Forbes 30U30: Deepak Chhugani Recognized in Enterprise Tech 2023

Forbes 30 under 30 recognizes the young leaders that are turning to entrepreneurship to solve the world’s biggest problems. The class of 2023, marking the list’s 12th edition, features honorees in 20 different categories, including: art and style, social media, science, sports, healthcare, energy, enterprise tech, consumer tech, music, finance, social impact, manufacturing and industry, among others.

Collectively, the Class of 2023 has raised over $5.3 billion in venture funding, nearly 5 times more than the collective $1 billion raised in 2022.

We are honored and excited to announce that Nuvocargo’s Founder & CEO, Deepak Chhugani has been recognized among the 30 entrepreneurs shaping the future of enterprise technology in North America. Deepak was born in Kenya to Indian parents, and raised in Ecuador. After attending university in the U.S, he worked on Wall Street for a few years before deciding to make the leap to startup founder. 

In 2019, Nuvocargo was born to solve a major challenge for the world’s largest trade lane, US-Mexico. Language and currency differences, voluminous paperwork, and differing rules and regulation make cross-border transport extremely challenging. Nuvocargo was the first startup to focus on digitizing the process specifically for this market, matching shippers with carriers and bringing transparency to the overall process.

Beyond his success with Nuvocargo, Deepak has helped bring awareness to stories like his, starting as an outsider and becoming an insider into a lot of networks like Y Combinator and the venture capital communities. “These networks changed my life and are also transforming regions and sectors I’m passionate about, namely the logistics industry and Latin America. I truly believe there should be more LatinX leaders creating more role models, which helps fund more businesses in these sectors, which are underserved and going through interesting transformations.” ‍
